The name Porta holds special meaning. In Italian, porta means “door,” reflecting founder Katie Tauber’s Italian heritage. It also honors Door County, the community where Porta Estates is based and proudly serves. Most importantly, it symbolizes transition and the passage from one chapter of life to the next.
Meet the Founder
Founder Katie Tauber, PMP brings more than a decade of military leadership and project management experience to every client relationship. A veteran and entrepreneur, Katie built Porta Estates on the values of integrity, accountability, organization, and service.
After returning to Sturgeon Bay with her husband, David, a fellow veteran and Door County native, Katie recognized the need for compassionate, trustworthy support for families facing major life transitions. She founded Porta Estates to help clients navigate those moments with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
